MN Creates is an artist-led initiative to bring the work of contemporary Minnesota artists into the State Capitol and State Office Building. Thousands of lawmakers, community leaders, citizens and students pass through these buildings every year making them a perfect venue for exhibiting the talent and creativity of artists from across our state.

The MN Creates inaugural exhibition will be on view in reception areas and other public spaces in both buildings throughout the 2014 legislative session.

MN Creates would like to acknowledge the assistance of the Senate and House staff members who were invaluable in helping us make this project a reality, with a special thanks to Ludger Dekarski, Sven Lindquist, Travis Reese, Amanda Rudolph, and Gordy Specht.

Art at its best can serve to enliven our spaces, touch our hearts, and illuminate the path to achieving our highest ideals. We hope the work of the 2014 MN Creates artists will inspire all who see it.
